Just a short post today today to give a shout out to keeping it real. It took me 50 years to get to a point where I sincerely did not care what anyone else thought. To realize that other people’s opinions are reflections of themselves. To realize that MY opinion is a reflection of myself (i.e. maybe be less judgy Kristi?). We’re all trying our best, sometimes life is messy.
With loved ones dealing with mental health issues, illness, ageing, starting college, finishing college, all the things that actually matter – I am grateful for every moment that life is all good. I’ve learned to grab onto those and play – no matter what the current hair/makeup situation is, I’m just thankful to be able to enjoy the fresh air with my doggo.
My daughter and I are HUGE Schitt’s Creek fans and one of our favorite episodes is where the sister is trying to convince the brother to chill – “no one cares David”. When either of us starts getting wrapped up in what others might think, the other one will say “no one cares David” and it cracks us up and brings us back to reality.
When did you find your “no one cares, David” vibe? If you haven’t yet, here’s your permission slip to start!
