When my daughter was two, her favorite holiday movie was The Grinch, the Jim Carey version. To say that she was fascinated was an understatement, she probably watched it 200 times! Ok, it felt like 200 and quite possibly that is a lifetime total. We had a big red chenille sectional couch in a lower finished playroom area with an aging big screen tv (sidenote, always good for football!). We all piled in to watch movies together with blankets and my girls, who were one and two at the time. I never actually caught a nap because of the cortisol pulsing through my veins, but that’s another story…
To this day she LOVES The Grinch. Anything Grinch makes her smile and a Grinch and mini-Grinch (aka dog toy) are the only stuffed animals still in her room. We had shirts, hoodies, mugs, slippers, and tees. She let go of the green tee, but I’ll be wearing it this year. Yes, I’m that mom, still wearing tees from my daughters, now, I get the hand-me-downs.
Thank you WalMart for the Grinchmas merch! Last year I got the Grinch rotating light for the outside of the house and may or may not, rename the wifi The Grinch for when they come home for the Holidays! Actually, I’m typing in the softest baby fleece Santa pajama shirt that I found as a cast off in her room!
This year I have to find Hershey Kisses, Grinchy style before they are gone!
We would love to hear your traditions, please share and let us all smile with you! Happy Holidays everyone!
