Self Care Detox Bath

Seeing as cold and flu season is quickly approaching and Covid is popping up all over the place

I thought I’d share an easy, inexpensive detox bath that always helps me feel better quicker.

Full disclosure: I first heard about this on The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills (I know I know, it’s a guilty pleasure, forgive me). But don’t worry, this bath works for my family as well as me and they’re as horrified by my tv habits as anyone.

I don’t fully remember the exact measurements, I’m not sure there really were any but here’s what I do:

Ingredients:

  • Sea Salt – any kind works
  • Hydrogen Peroxide – again, just the normal kind from the grocery or drug store
  • Baking Soda – you probably have some in the kitchen
  • Epsom Salts – I like Dr. Teal’s best but John doesn’t like the essential oil in them so he uses plain epsom salt.
  • Bubble Bath – optional
  • Cool glass of drinking water – optional but highly recommended

Instructions:

  • Fill the tub with water as hot as you can safely sit in.
  • Pour in all the ingredients.
  • Soak for 15 – 20 minutes – be prepared to sweat a lot!
  • Shower off, wrap up in something cozy, grab some tea or hot water with lemon/honey and get lots of good rest.

If you want to really amp up the detox, add some bamboo foot detox pads like these. Here’s wishing you a happy and healthy fall and winter!
